Another round of FAQ’s have been spotted from Sprint which contain details about the Palm Pre smartphone. This time the FAQ’s indicate that the Pre will get Office 2007 compatibility. However, this doesn’t give too much away as it could mean a few things. First off it could mean that you can simply view Excel, Word and other types of MS documents from the Office 2007 series. Secondly it could simply mean that the Pre will be able to connect to MS Exchange to sync contacts, calendar and email. Finally it could mean there are a full suite of Office apps installed allowing you to view and edit a variety of documents.
As well as featuring “Office 2007 compatibility” the Pre will support custom ringtones (ie, downloadable or your own music), as well as MMS picture messaging. It appears that by using MMS you need to some how crop your images down to an acceptable size for them to transmit and it also seems like no tool to do this on the phone is available like there is in Windows Mobile devices. Instead, they just encourage you to take pictures at a lower resolution.
Currently there is a lack of video recording for some bizarre reason and finally, Family Locator will not be available for the Pre at launch. Both of these should appear after a firmware update that has no specified launch date just yet.
