Palm Foleo Mobile Companion

The Palm Foleo is a device which is Linux based. It weighs just 2.5lbs and is a mobile companion which can run features like email, web browsing, word processing, spreadsheets and more. The device does not boot and is an instant on computer which has a 10.2 inch display. The keyboard is a full QWERTY keyboard. Battery life is rated at about 5 hours on a full charge. Connectivity to the internet is done through either Wifi or through a phone.

The Foleo does look good from what I can see. The instant on feature is something I am interested in seeing too as boot up times on some devices is a real pain. It costs $499 which might seem a little steep with it seeming to be a cut down laptop. However, it could prove successful if enough software support is provided such as syncing tools which tend to be very important on devices these days. Its not something I would go for myself, but I can see benefits to a small web browsing laptop type device which can do the simple things.
