If you want to get your website or any other message across to users quickly then you could opt for a mobile barcode which can be read by mobile barcode reader software. These little barcode type pictures have now been put on to tags and named “P8tch”.
The tags are velcro and stick to clothing and other various objects that you can stick velcro to. If you see one walking past you then you can take a photo which will then load up the website being advertised if you are using the correct piece of software. P8tch’s cost $19.95 each and can be shipped to the UK (extra cost) if needed. I am not sure sure these barcody type patches are going to take off as the original barcodes to scan off the screen are not exactly popular. Also, why would you chase someone to get their website URL? I’d rather stick to the old fashioned way by typing in a URL in to my phone or computer.

On a positive side, they could be used for a bit of fun like hiding the location of a secret event or for games where you need to encode messages through your phone. I still don’t see them becoming mainstream though.
