NVidia PureVideo HD
NVidia the graphics company have now enabled users of PC’s to upgrade them to play HD DVD and Blu-Ray movies. PureVideo is HD technology is the latest from NVidia which combines high definition video decode acceleration and post processing to deliver amazing quality to your screen. The drivers are part of the NVIDIA ForceWare which will now feature PureVideo.

To be able to run these drivers you need to match the following requirements…
— A PCI Express graphics card with NVIDIA GeForce 7 Series HDCP-capable
GPU, secure HDCP CryptoROM, and 256MB graphics memory (see list here)
— WHQL-certified NVIDIA ForceWare drivers that feature PureVideo HD
technology (http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp)
— An optical disc drive that supports Blu-ray or HD DVD movie playback
— Blu-ray or HD DVD movie player software from CyberLink, InterVideo, or
Nero
— An HDCP-compliant display
— A dual-core CPU with 1GB of RAM

Thats a fairly heavy list there ;) But the real tech head PC owners will already have this available I am sure. PureVideo HD will provide the hardware acceleration needed to decode H.264, VC-1, WMV and MPEG2 movies and will display them as crystal clear images up to 6 times better quality then a DVD. The NVidia drivers are set to enhance the whole movie scene on the PC.

If you need help upgrading your PC then check out NZone which will let you know what you need to be able to use these drivers and take advantage of Blu-ray and HD quality video’s.
