Nokia has announced the Nokia X3-02 handset. It's quite a strange phone from what we can see in that it has a regular numeric keypad on the lower part of the phone along with a 2.4 inch QVGA touchscreen above that.
The touchscreen isn't a full replacement for the keypad though and essentially makes it easier to navigate around the device which could actually work well.
As well as having a relatively small touchscreen, the Nokia X3-02 has 3G connectivity along with wireless 802.11n and Bluetooth 2.1 which makes it very connectible.
Size wise the Nokia X3-02 measures 9.6mm in thickness and is covered in brushed aluminium. Price wise it has been announced as costing ‚¬125 before tax and subsidies which makes it a very reasonably prices phone.
"We continue to push innovation at all price points. The Nokia X3 brings new consumer value with a device that combines a touch screen and a keypad at an affordable price, offering consumers the best of both Worlds." said Mark Loughran, Managing Director, Nokia UK.
The camera on the Nokia X3-02 is 5 megapixels and has 4X digital zoom available.
Although not the most exciting of phone announcements, it certainly looks better than I thought. Release dates indicate we will see it by the end of this quarter.
