With all the hype of tablet devices at the moment such as the Apple iPad, HP Slate, Notion Ink Adam and several others, it was about time we heard of a Nokia Tablet.
Nokia [NOK] have had their fair share of dealings with tablet style devices such as the N900, although Nokia has primarily dealt with smaller end tablet devices with 4 - 5 inch screens. We are now hearing that they could be working on a tablet aimed at battling it out with the likes of the iPad, Slate and others mentioned above. We also hear that it could be ready as early as this fall.
As the information is currently just in rumour stages, ie, unofficial, we of course do not know the specs although we believe it will follow in the same vein as the Nokia Booklet and actually be a Nokia Booklet Tablet.
'Nokia is working with suppliers and design manufacturers on a touch-screen tablet.
One of those suppliers is believed to be Intel who perhaps could be providing Intel Atom CPU's for the tablet device. We also hear it could be a Windows 7 tablet that has a custom UI overlaid although that's more speculation at the moment based on what the Nokia Booklet currently runs.
As for pricing, there's also little information here other than we are expecting the price fall below the $500 price point to stay in line with the iPad, or perhaps $549 to fall in line with the HP Slate. If Nokia get it right it could potentially be another decent tablet on the market.
As this is almost all rumour at the moment, you need to take it with a pinch of salt till we get any spy shots or official information from Nokia themselves. [TFTS]
