After months of rumours we now have official word from Nokia that they have created a netbook sized device. The official name is the Nokia Booklet 3G and it is a Windows based machine that runs an Intel Atom processor that promises to function just like a full PC. Battery life is key with netbooks and this one doesn't disappoint with an impressive 12 hours of light usage.
The Booklet 3G has a screen measuring 10.1 inches that also runs at a HD resolution. A HDMI port is included on the Booklet allowing it to connect to a HD screen. The shell of the device is aluminium and measures just 2cm in thickness. The Booklet weighs around 1KG.
As can be expected with a Nokia device, and the give away name, it has 3G/HDSPA built in so that mobile broadband can be used anywhere you get a 3G signal. Wi-Fi is also included. The SIM card slot is also hot-swappable should you need to switch SIM cards mid-usage.
aGPS is another function built in to the Booklet and works along with Ovi Maps. A front facing camera can be found above the screen allowing you to make video calls. Bluetooth is another function as well as an SD card reader allowing for plenty of devices to connect or photos to be copied etc...
“A growing number of people want the computing power of a PC with the full benefits of mobility. We are in the business of connecting people and the Nokia Booklet 3G is a natural evolution for us. Nokia has a long and rich heritage in mobility and with the outstanding battery life, premium design and all day, always on connectivity, we will create something quite compelling. In doing so we will make the personal computer more social, more helpful and more personal.”
Full specs, availability and pricing will be mentioned officially in the next couple of weeks. For some reason it seems like a great netbook to watch out for. Lets hope they get the pricing right.

this product from nokia is very intresting and wounderful as i had been a huge fan of nokia ever since i had nokia phone back in my middle school years.
another thing i had read above that thier is a sim card slot, what would that be for?
The booklet has mobile broadband capabilities that allow you to work on the internet where you have a mobile phone signal. Speeds can get up to 7.2Mbps if the location and type of tower is just right. Normally you don’t get anywhere near that but still a very acceptable over 1Mbps connection from when I have tested on my other netbook that has a SIM card.
