Motorola could be launching a tablet computer later this year. It is expected that the Motorola Tablet will have a screen somewhere between 7 and 10 inches and that it will run the Google [GOOG] Android OS.
The device also appears to be geared more to streaming TV content to it in that the "tablet would provide a portable, in-home TV solution that users could use to watch streamed content around the house".
Although Motorola hinted at it could be launching later this year, we have no idea how late this year it will be. It certainly seems like Motorola are tackling the Tablet market from a different angle, or should we say a less diverse angle as other tablets can stream content now as well as doing other tasks.
With the Tablet utilising the Android OS, it's hard to believe that the only focus will be streaming TV content, so for now I think we can safely assume that other tasks will also be possible such as email or web browsing to name a few.
When and if we get more details of the Motorola Tablet, we'll provide an update although based on the rumours we have heard, it seems like it's not going to make much of an impact. Lets hope the rumours are wrong as we need more challenges in the tablet arena.
