MiCard - New Memory Card Standard
June 4, 2007

The MiCard is a new memory card standard which has just been approved by the MultiMedia Card Association. It is compatible with both MMC and USB slots. Impressive transfer rates are available on this Multiple Interface Card (MiCard) which will allow 480MBps. Storage capacity is expected to ready 2 TB (Terabytes) which is 2048GB. A number of companies are showing support for this new memory card format.
When I first heard of the MiCard I thought it was a bit crazy that another format was coming out for memory cards. After reading the specs and seeing the compatibility I kind of like the idea of the MiCard. With capacities expected to hit 2TB that is currently a crazy amount of data in such a small place.
