Master Boy – Portable Sega Master System

Master Boy 300x225 Master Boy Portable Sega Master SystemThe Master Boy is a hacked together Sega Master System portable built by Sam Thornley in June last year. It’s built from MDF and duct tape and uses a Master System II concole PCB.

The screen runs directly from the RGB VDP chip built on to the PCB giving a pixel perfect image.

The Master Boy took 2 – 3 weeks to built, measures 6.5″ x 8.4″ x 2″ and is powered by a 7.2v 4600mAh Ni-Mh Battery. It’s a beast of a unit and looks like it could hurt should you throw it across the room when you loose at Alex Kid, but it works and certainly brings back memories of growing up in the 80’s.
