This cool application is probably makes the iPhone in to the best POV device I have ever seen. The application is called Light Writer POV Effect and it allows you to enter some text or use clipart on your iPhone and then wave the iPhone around to create a floating image in the air.
POV meaning Persistence of Vision usually comes in the form of LED’s attached to a motor spinning around making a clock time float in the air. The iPhone application puts all of this in your pocket.
I assume it works by using the built in accelerometer to work out the direction and speed of travel of the phone at which point it can display the appropriate image at the right time to give the illusion of POV… but that’s just my theory 
The application costs just $1 from the App Store although I can see it being used for about 30 minutes till you get bored. That’s why at just $1 it’s appropriately priced and well worth you downloading! Go search and check it out now.
