The gel inside this thing vibrates any surface to produce sound. So, putting on glass produces a bright sound but putting it on a wooden table makes for a fuller bass. You end up going around the house putting it on different things to see what the sound is like....lots of fun and a bigger sound than you expect :) I bought one of these last month and it really does what it says on the box!
