Bodelin Technologies have created the iPhone ProPrompter. The hardware allows you to sit your iPhone or iPod Touch next to a video camera and use the ProPrompter software to scroll through the text you need to read.
The software is not available yet and is actually just awaiting approval from the Apple App store. It all is good then the software will allow smooth scrolling of text in both portrait and landscape modes. Seven prompt speeds can be used depending on how quick you need to read and the ability to change the text size and background colour is there too. When you have a script you need to upload it to the ProPrompter site and then download it to your device.
More details will be available as soon as the App is approved on the app store.
