iPhone goes for Free on some Tariffs in UK
June 10, 2008

For those of you in the UK who thought you “might” be ripped off by UK prices being higher for the iPhone then things have turned out quite well for us lot. The new iPhone which has 3G capabilities will be free on certain tariffs on the O2 network in the UK. This is fabulous news as £270 for me for the original on an 18 month contract was just a big NO.
A swift check of the prices over on O2 indicate the 8GB model will be free on price plans £45/month and upwards, while the 16GB model will be free on the £75/month plans. If you want to pay less per month then the most you will pay for the 8GB model is £99 while the lowest monthly plan will charge you £159 for the iPhone.
These prices are quite good in my opinion and certainly a step in the right direction!

I can’t believe how much cheaper this is than the original iPhone.
I paid £269 for mine, plus the 18 month contract, I guess that is the price you pay for being an early adopter, £99 for the new one is a bargain.
