iPhone 4S and iPad 2 Untethered Jailbreak Released

A new jailbreak for the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 has been released. This one comes from the Chronic Dev Team along with pod2g. The jailbreak is based on Greenpois0n and is called Absinthe A5.

To give a little insight in to how complicated the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 are to jailbreak, take a look at the following quote:

The ridiculously complex combination of exploits-within-exploits that make this iOS jailbreak possible have consumed thousands of hours of brain-power & effort from a legion of world-renowned hackers, several of whom have been working diligently on this project since the dual-core A5 processor was unveiled by Apple last March.

Since Apple introduced the A5 on the iPad 2 last year it has been extremely difficult to jailbreak the device.

Full details about the jailbreak can be found over here.
