iPhone 3G S Available at Tesco 14 December

iphone-tescoTesco have announced that the iPhone 3G S and 3G will be made available in their phone store starting December 14. We first heard about Tesco in the UK selling the iPhone in the UK back in November but at that time pricing and release dates were not known.

Pricing for the Tesco iPhone starts with a £20/month 12 month contract where you can pay up front a fee for the iPhone. On that contract you can get the 8GB iPhone 3G for £222 while a 16GB iPhone 3G S will cost you £320 and the 32GB iPhone 3G S will cost you £407. The only other monthly plan jumps up quite a bit to £60/month on a 24 month contract where the first two iPhones are free and the 32GB model will cost you £50 up front on this contract.

Although interestingly priced I would have liked to see more middle options between the 12 Month £20 contract and 24 month £60 contract with perhaps a £30 - £35 18 month contract.

Tesco also offer a Pay-as-you-go iPhone where you can top-up with £15/month and get £30 free credit or if you top up with £20/month then you get £40 free credit which isn't a bad deal. However, pricing for the iPhones goes up vs the contract versions with the 8GB 3G iPhone costing £342 with the 16GB and 32GB 3G S versions costing £440 and £538 respectively.

The phone will be available here on December 14.
