Intel have introduced a unique working concept notebook that has four screens built in. Don’t think that it’s 4×15″ displays all put side by side though. In this case you have 1 large screen as a normal laptop/notebook has and then below just above the keyboard you have 3 more smaller screens embedded in to the device. Each of those 3 screens near the keyboard respond to touch and can display information in widgets. Also content from the 3 screens can be dragged up to the main screen if needed.
The concept is codenamed Tangent Bay and uses 3 OLED screens as well as the primary LCD based screen.
It is also being called the worlds first multi-touch, multi-screen concept solution and although it sounds crazy I can actually see it being a very handy way of working with email, IM conversations, social networking streams and perhaps showing a task list, movie or some other handy content that you need to glance at from time to time but don’t want to waste space on your main screen with.
I like the idea. It is in concept at the moment still, but as you will see below in the videos, they do have a working model. I guess all that they need to worry about now is price, demand and getting it to us as quick as possible!
