intel ssds Intel 160GB SSD Now ShippingIntel have launched a 160GB SSD. It has a 2.5″ form factor at the moment with a 1.8″ form factor becoming available in January. It is numbed the X25-M and has no official price just yet.

The smaller 80GB version of the X25-M currently costs $540, so expect prices to be a few hundred more then that initially.

The X25-M and X18-M SSD’s from Intel have had some good reviews in the past. This is down to their read/write speeds that are at 250Mbps and 70Mbps respectively.

These are a set of SSD drives worth looking out for when you spot them in the shops although if money is a deciding factor, then give it a few months to get them at a better price.
