Inside a Hard Disk Drive

Hard Drive
If you ever wonder what goes on inside the depths of your hard drive then this video will show you exactly what happens. A hard drive is a spinning platter which is magnetic and has a head that reads and writes data from the disk. As can be seen in the video, you will notice how fast the head moves to shift data around. Its interesting to see how precise the movements of the arm are which contains the head for reading data. It needs to move precisely to the right location on the platter to get the data it needs.

The video after the jump will show you what happens when the computer is powered on, data is copied and pasted, the drive is formatted and then when it is switched off.
