Webcams don’t always have the best image quality that we hope for when buying them. This can be due to a number of conditions such as bad lighting, low resolution, a tiny lens or a not so good sensor.
OmniVision have decided to tackle the problem of the sensor and have created the “industry’s best low-light sensitivity”. What this should do is immensely improve the quality of images while using your webcam in lower then good light level conditions.
Not much information is given, but if the sensor works well then I’d expect to see it being embedded in the latest netbooks and laptops later on this year.
