Many of you will have heard of the HTC mobile phone brand who create some cool smart phones running Windows Mobile software. The latest to hit the streets is the HTC Kaiser which when unlocked and purchased with out contract is named the HTC Tytn II. The Tytn II features a slide out QWERTY keyboard and the screen is able to tilt upwards to get a more comfortable viewing angle. Back to the HTC Tytn II… If you want to get one of those on contract then you will probably struggle to find it by that name. This is because phone operators have rebranded them. Here is a list of known variations of the HTC Kaiser.

Vodafone v1615 (HTC Kaiser 120)
Release Date: October, 2007

AT&T Tilt 8925 (HTC Kaiser 110)
Release Date: October, 2007

Vodafone VPA Compact V (HTC Kaiser 120)
Release Date: September, 2007

T-Mobile MDA Vario III (HTC Kaiser 120)
Release Date: September, 2007

AT&T Tilt 8900 (HTC Kaiser 100)
Cancelled

Notice how each also has a side name of HTC Kaiser 1XX. 120 means the device has cameras, and 110 means no forward facing camera for video calls and 100 means no cameras at all. I picked up the MDA Vario III this week on contract and I have to admit, it’s one heck of a great device.
