SlashGear managed to get a sneak preview of the Onyx Concept Phone recently. This mobile device is looking great from what they saw. The device uses a high resolution touch sensative screen which uses Synaptics ClearPad touchscreen technology. This technology is excellent and can tell the difference between 1 or 2 fingers touching it or even if somebody’s face is touching the screen when making a call. With this type of information a whole new level of functions could be built in the phone such as switching to handsfree when being pulled away from your face.

The device as it is now looks very sleek with the front panel covered mostly with the large high res LCD screen. The LCD screen is used to control the devices many functions and has built in functions such as a scroll wheel for controling anything from volume to selecting an MP3 to play.
