How To - Build your own LED Light Bulb

LED Light Bulbs

Instructions on how to make your own LED light Bulb

FieldLines have created detailed instructions on how to make your own LED light bulb. They say it takes a while to make, but the time spent building it is well worth the look and cost savings of the lower power consumption.

You need a halogen bulb (dead or not dead), some resistors, lots of LEDs (they recommend no more then 22) and other tools like solder to put it all together. The results are quite cool but it does look like a fairly complicated task putting it all together like can be seen below.

Rather then me going through all the steps again, you should go visit FieldLines to get the full instructions on what to do and how to calculate the resistors needed.

This is really neat. But, it looks like it uses a car battery to run it. :-)

Is there a method to make an LED light bulb that you can screw in at home using regular AC?

I think we can use the mobile charger for LED based lights as because the mobile charger gives us good quality 3.7v.DC and 1.5vto3v operated LED easily available in the market for practical purpose. But I don’t know the current power of the charger so I have not try it yet.
