Google [GOOG] and Verizon [VZ] appear to be working on a new Google Tablet according to WSJ.
Information about the Google Tablet is a little on the sparse side at the moment with only this snippet of information... "We're looking at all the things Google has in its archives that we could put on a tablet to make it a great experience.".
This has led a number of people to believe that a Google Tablet could be built although it does indicate that the project has barely started.
It is unclear at the moment what the Google Tablet will run as in Android or Chrome OS although we are edging towards Android as it's in a more complete form and could move over quite nicely to a tablet as we have seen with other companies.
The Google Tablet could potentially be a good competitor to the Apple iPad. So far the iPad has had little worthy competition. With two well known brands behind the Google Tablet we could see some good things.
