Currently when you buy one of the new Google [GOOG] phones, AKA the Google Nexus One, you sign up for a contract on the T-Mobile network if you are in the US. Google are about to launch the Nexus One in Europe in the next few weeks and it will be going to the UK first on the Vodafone network. As of yet there are no details on pricing or availability although the phones are expected to be available sooner rather than later. Vodafone have stated...
"I can confirm that Vodafone is the first operator to partner with Google to offer the Nexus One in Europe, starting soon in the UK, in a few short weeks. No detail on pricing and precise timing has yet been made, but that will come in a few weeks."
The Nexus One was officially launched just two days ago at CES in Las Vegas and at the same time the Google store was opened up where you can get your hands on the phone in the US. It is unclear how the phone will be sold this side of the pond and if users will go through Google's home page or direct through Vodafone to pick up their Nexus One. All will probably be revealed along with pricing in the next week or two.
