Google Maps for Mobile Update
November 29, 2007

The latest Google Maps for Mobile has a new feature built in where it can locate you (by estimation) by using nearby cell phone towers. When testing this for my self I found it tracked me with in a few hundred yards of my actual location. This is great for those wanting to use the power of Google Maps on their mobile but do not yet have a GPS receiver to find them. Although it is not as accurate it can still give you a good idea of where you are.
The software is simple to use. Just browse to here and download it to your phone. Once installed you get all the terms and reminders about data charges. Once past all that you hit zero and it shows your approximate location.
