Google Earth about to get better 3D

Google Earth
For those who are regular users of Google Earth you might have noticed that the 3D buildings are very boring and 1 colour. If you have used Virtual Earth by Microsoft you will have seen some nice 3D renderings in full colour. Google are a little behind on this side of things and will be playing catch up. Google have worked with Stanford University students to use sensing technology which apparently will create better 3D buildings for Google Earth. It seems that most things Google set their mind to do well and hopefully the 3D cities will be another good feature too for Google Earth.

An announcement is expected at the end of May which is anytime soon. So be prepared to be amazed (hopefully) by new 3D buildings in Google earth for you to fly around and zoom in and out of. A mixture of these new buildings and this GPS project could go down real well for those who want a seriously cool (graphically) navigation system in their car.
