You probably remember all the data losses recently in the UK where individuals data was sent, lost and the media went crazy over it. To help you avoid the risk of loosing your own data the GoldKey has been created.
The GoldKey is a personal security key that plugs in to your USB port on your laptop or computer. Software built in to the key allows the data on the laptop to be unencrypted and used. Once unplugged the data is then inaccessible making it fairly secure. The encryption algorithm used is on par with what the NSA uses for their top secret documents (although I have no idea what encryption type they use). There is no actual storage available on this key and it literally is just a key that is used to unlock data when plugged in to your laptop.
You might ask what happens if you loose your GoldKey. There is an option to purchase a GoldKey master key which creates a backup of your original key. If loosing your GoldKey then you can use the master key to re initialise a new GoldKey so you can still retrieve your files. If you are a small business and want to use the GoldKey system then you also have the option of creating several copies to hand out to staff.
