Free Gmail Voice Calls Through 2011 for US

The Gmail Blog from Google [GOOG] has announced that it is extending the offer of free calls to the US and Canada throughout 2011.

When Google Voice was integrated in to Gmail back in August this year, the offer of free calls was originally planned to run till the end of this year.

In the spirit of holiday giving and to help people keep in touch in the new year, we’re extending free calling for all of 2011.

Unfortunately, free voice calls to the US and Canada are only available for those people using Gmail in the US. For the rest of us, there have been no announcements yet about when Gmail calling will be made available.

You can check out all the details over on the official Gmail blog found over here.

THANK YOU! Not to be ungrateful, however, I had always
thought it was forever! I hope you do make it permanent within
North America. 🙂 I don’t want to see a bait and switch here. To
make it a paid service, I believe the quality would have to be much
, much higher than what it is now, instead of all the
    dropouts.
