flo tv 300x237 FLO TV   Digital Handheld TVFLO TV Incorporated have created the FLO TV Personal Television that allows you to watch your favourite news, sports, childrens and entertainment programs while on the move.

The press release mentions that the device offers high-quality TV for those on the go by using both live and time-shifted over a dedicated multicast network that’s free from buffering and downloading. Channel changes happen with the swipe of a finger that takes you through each of the FLO TV’s channels and programme lineup.

“We have offered the award-winning FLO TV service on a variety of handsets through our carrier and OEM partners, and we plan to continue working with them to expand the FLO TV handset lineup,” said Bill Stone, president of FLO TV. “We are also thrilled to be launching the first of FLO TV’s direct-to-consumer offerings with the FLO TV Personal Television. We have heard from customers that they want more choice and, specifically, a device that is easy to share with friends and family. With the FLO TV service available on mobile handsets, in-car entertainment systems and consumer electronics devices like FLO TV Personal Television, FLO TV offers something for every kind of consumer on-the-go.”

FLO TV is subscription based at a cost of $8.99/month while you also pay $249.99 for the device it’s self. The device has a 3.5″ screen that can play back TV on a single charge for up to 5 hours. A built in stand is included with FLO TV that allows you to easily position the screen for viewing on a flat surface. Sound is played back through built-in stereo speakers.
