A company named Plastic Logic has created a new eBook reader that is about 2.5 times bigger then an Amazon Kindle and slightly thinner. Another difference with this eBook reader is that it’s actually flexible.
The Plastic Logic eBook reader has wireless features built in allowing books to be downloaded. Also, support for Microsoft Office documents and PDF’s is available too making this ebook quite an attractive device.
The model shown above is not flexible. However, if you look over on the Plastic Logic site you can see images of flexible screens which would indicate this is the path they are heading. Please note that although the device is flexible, it is not “foldable”.
No prices are available yet, but the ebook reader should be on display at CES at the beginning of 2009 and the prices will be revealed at that point with a launch date pencilled in for the first half of 2009. I do hope that the 2010 version will have a colour screen.
