FineDrive have launched a new navigation device called the FineDrive iQ Special. It’s a satnav unit aimed at the Korean market and also helps drivers “study English” when they are driving around.
It uses a native-speaker voice to call out the directions which can be repeated with the A-B repeat function. It uses content from eBoyoung’s Dictionary of English Conversational Expressions.
It’s a rather odd combination as you’d expect a satnav to just tell you where to go rather than distract you from the road by trying to teach you English.
Other than being a satnav and English tutor the iQ Special has voice recognition technology, DMB support and music/video playback. It will cost 469,000 KRW when launched (about $380 USD) for the 8GB model.
