FakeTV is a cool invention that makes it appear that someone is at home watching the TV. The flashing glow of the TV makes the burglar think twice about breaking in to your property.
The device is simply a light that you put near your windows. It simulates the output light that a real TV gives. When the robber passes the window he will be put off as the home is then unappealing and too much of a high risk. FakeTV switches on when it detects the light is getting dark and then you can opt to choose a timer to switch off the TV (or FakeTV I should say) when it gets late.
It’s one of the most simple inventions I have seen, but I think it’s brilliant. Unfortunately I did not get to capture any decent pictures of it working so you’ll have to make do with pictures from the FakeTV site.
FakeTV is available now costing $36.99 over at Amazon.
