Fabber 3D Printer – Print your own LEGO

Fabathome
Fabathome is a new website which teaches you how to create your own fabber. A fabber is a 3D printer which is capable of printing thousands of different 3D objects. One example is a lego brick. You might loose a lego brick needed to finish a model. All you need to do is download a 3D blueprint of the lego brick and send this to the fabber. 2 hours later your brick will be printed and you can finish off the lego set you started.

You might ask why you would print and think its cheaper and quicker to just go buy the part. Well, yes it would be, but you also have to remember that anything that you can create in 3D can be printed from the comfort of your own home. Lego seems quite simple but lego is not the limit. Items such as bowls, car parts, tooth brushes are among the list of items that can be created.

The fabber costs around $2300 for you to assemble which is far cheaper then the production models which are available. Go and check out fabathome.org and see what its all about.
