AllDroid forum member sil3ntki113, has managed to create a one-click-root for the Droid X. The Droid X was rooted just last week and to get root on the device, you needed to follow a 25 step process that saw you copy files, execute files and a whole lot of other things.
The new one-click method actually has two buttons on the app. One allows you to root the Droid X with a single click and the second button allows you to un-root the Droid X also with a single click. The application is simple to install and runs on a Windows based computer that has the .NET 3.5 framework installed (Vista and Windows 7 have this by default).
The creator of the app doesn't claim to have rooted the Droid X, but instead has just created an app to automate the steps to root the device making it a lot easier for people to use.

As with rooting any device, proceed with caution. We haven't tested the root out, so we suggest you read the AllDroid forums where you can pick up the free download and check to see what others experiences are with the app.
The Droid X it's self has a 4.3 inch capacitive touchscreen that shows 854 x 480 pixels. It is powered by a TI 1GHz processor and has an 8 megapixel camera. One note here is that the Droid X Android 2.2 update is expected a week on Friday, so if you root, you might not get the update.
