Droid Passed FCC

Droid 300x219 Droid Passed FCCWe’ve mentioned Droid a lot over the last 10 days and information hasn’t stopped flowing just yet either. Verizon’s name has appeared on a lot of the pictures we have seen along with posters, a phone it’s self etc… We now hear that Droid will also be going to the AT&T network in the US. A GSM version had previously passed FCC just a few days ago but only had 3G support for Europe. A second version of Droid was being pushed at the same time too and this particular version is ready for North America.

Full details of the FCC’s documents can be found over here which show the approval of the “Sholes” phone. Details aren’t too exciting as it just approves frequencies that the phone works on.

Expect more news on the Droid over this next week as it prepares for launch.
