A company in Japan have made a personal satellite named MySat which is a 10 inch square covered in solar panels. It weighs just 44 poinds. However, it is $860000. That nice amount covers the cost of the launch, the satellite and monitoring/operational services.
What are it's uses though? Basically it allows businesses and researchers to use it for their own specific needs. It will stay in orbit from 20 to 30 years.
