The release date for the White iPhone 4 keeps getting pushed further and further away for various reasons. Right now we only know that the white iPhone 4 is coming sometime this year.
If you have a bit (a lot) of cash spare and want a white iPhone 4 now, check out whiteiphone4now.com who are selling DIY kits for you to convert your black iPhone 4 in to a white model.
The DIY kit costs $229 and includes the following items...
* 1 x iPhone 4 Retina Display
* 1 x White iPhone 4 Front Panel
* 1 x White iPhone 4 Back Cover
* 1 x White iPhone 4 Home Button
* 1 x White iPhone 4 Digitizer (enables touch function)
* 1 x White iPhone 4 Front Panel Support Frame
We cannot say if these parts are all genuine or not Update: We have been contacted by the company who say that all parts are original OEM and white (ie, not modified), but the website does claim they are all OEM parts. We suspect they managed to get some regular black spares and painted them white. The reason the cost is high is due to all the parts needed to just replace the glass. It's not as easy as taking the front cover off and sticking a new piece of glass on the front as the screen and digitizer all form a single part that's essentially attached together.
So far the company has sold 99 white iPhone 4 kits. We can't see this number going in to the thousands to be honest, but we expect a good number will still take up the offer even if it does add a few hundred more dollars to the price of your black iPhone 4 and void the warranty.
