I came across an interesting service today named Give a digital frame. The idea behind this is that you upload pictures to a company who then put the images on a memory card bundled with a letter (you write) and a picture frame and then ship it as a gift to a friend or relative.

How Give a Digital Frame works
From the site…
* 1. Choose the occasion or holiday you are celebrating.
* 2. Add the Digital Frame Gift Pack to your shopping cart.
* 3. Complete your order by entering your billing information and the shipping address of the gift recipient.
* 4. Enter a personalized message for the gift recipient.
* 5. Upload your favourite photos (up to 30mb) to personalize your digital frame gift.
* 6. Your photos will be saved to a memory card and packaged with the digital frame in a stylish gift box with your gift message.
* 7. Your gift recipient opens a personalized gift and immediately enjoys the photos you uploaded.
* 8. The gift recipient can add or change the photos in the digital frame whenever they choose.
* 9. You can sit back and know your gift will be enjoyed for many years to come.
The photo frame gift packs include a 7 inch digital picture frame, 30 meg of uploads for free, a 1GB memory card for free and all of this is gift wrapped (for free) and shipped (for free). Not a bad deal if you ask me.
If you enter the coupon code of $10OFF-BCLIL then you also get another $10 off any purchase.
With us being a gadget blog I figured you would be interested in the specs of the digital photo frame. The frame has a 7 inch screen which displays a resolution of 480×234 pixels. The screen is an Active Matrix LCD. All features in this frame are fairly standard for a frame and what you could expect such as slide show ability, music and movies. A remote control is included which I do like as it allows you to flick through pictures and change settings as needed.
Give a Digital Picture frame offer a unique service. What do you guys think about it? Would you consider using a service like this? If I was wanting to send a digital picture frame to friends and family then I think I probably would. The price for the frame (compared to UK prices where I am) seems about right and there are a few freebies thrown in. It looks like a convenient way to ship to those family members who don’t live so close to you.
