The DigiCube MIDPhone 50 is a small MID (mobile internet device) that has a 5″ screen with an 800 x 480 pixel resolution. The screen is backlit by LED and is also touchscreen. Unlike other MID’s the MIDPhone (as the name suggests) offers phone functionality.
The processor running the DigiCube is an Intel Atom Z500 running at 1.1/1.6GHz. It comes with either 512MB or 1GB of DDR2 memory, has an integrated 16GB SSD and a webcam builtin too. The screen slides out to the side revealing a full QWERTY keypad that has a touchpad integrated.
The MID has Wi-FI and Bluetooth for connectivity and for voice it is 3.5G compatible. It appears (although details are a little short at the moment) that a WiMax module is also available.
The DigiCube MIDPhone 50 measures 171.8 x 84 x 25.5 mm and weighs 420g and should run either XP or Vista (I recommend you select the XP option). The main downside is the bad battery life of just 2 hours which is quite lame if you ask me.
