If you are an iPhone owner and have a bank account with USAA you will soon be able to use your iPhone to deposit a check thanks to a new iPhone app that will be launched allowing you to take a picture of the front and back of the check to deposit it.
Once the pictures are taken they are then sent over to the bank who process the digital version of the check. The paper check can be just torn up and thrown away, although I’d recommend keeping it safe till you confirm the money has entered your account.
The USAA iPhone App is already available and when this service starts a new update will be made available to those who already have it installed that allows you to capture the images you need to take pics.
The app is free and available now for download. Via: Wired and GadgetCrave
