Dell and Google Deal
May 27, 2006
Dell and Google have signed a deal to help take on the Microsoft giant. This new deal between Google and Dell means that all PC’s shipped by Dell will come preinstalled with Google software. The software will include the Google toolbar and also a custom Google company home page. This is to take on the default Microsoft sites you see on most pre installed Windows PC’s.
Seems like a great idea to me! Google will do well from this as 90% of PC’s ship with MS software and are pre configured to a lot of default MS products such as IE, Media Player as well as others.
Microsoft is planning to build it’s latest IE (Version 7) which will have search features built in to it.
The battle continues!! Will be interesting to see things unfold over the coming years especially with Windows Vista being just around the corner.
