If using a cloth to wipe your screen is just too far below you, then perhaps this robot screen cleaner is for you. The Auto Mee S is a device that rolls around the screen of your smartphone or tablet and gently cleans the screen for you. One clean takes a few minutes to complete.
Back in September 2009 a new project at Microsoft was found. It was called Microsoft Courier and looked to be an excellent device useful for creating and managing ideas. Although the Courier was both confirmed and killed by Microsoft in a paragraph, the project looks to be living on by the way of an App for the new Windows 8 devices.
It's hard to know where to draw the line between rumour and hopes. A lot of rumours are spread about devices such as Android tablets as well as iPhones and iPads. The latest relates to the relatively new Nexus 7 tablet from Google. The rumour hints that a 3G model will be arriving within weeks... as in sometime in September.
Amazon is holding an event in the next few days to announce something new. The device likely to be announced is a new model of the Amazon Kindle Fire. I believe that because a refresh is due and also stock levels dropped to zero yesterday which is about perfect timing for the company to announce something new.
A number of retailers have leaked the release date of the Google Nexus 7 in France. The leaked date reveals that the device will be released on September 3.
Only the 16GB model is going on sale at first which will then be followed by the 8GB model at a later date. Various stores will have the tablet available which includes Fnac, Darty and Boulanger.
A new version of Skype has been built for Windows 8 when the OS launches. This of course can be expected. What I didn't expect to see today was more images of the new Skype app and what it runs like on the "Metro" style interface.
Amazon has made a brilliant move this week by announcing a new delivery option for those based in the UK. The online shopping site will soon be delivering your parcels, if you wish, to your local corner shop which essentially means that you don't have to wait in all day for a package to be delivered. Instead, you can designate a nearby partnered corner shop to receive the parcels and then collect them in the evening after you finish work.
Pricing is still a bit of an unknown for the new Windows 8 based tablets. Some suggestions have hinted that Microsoft will launch their own RT version of the Microsoft Surface at a low $199.99 in an attempt to gain market share. This of course will put a strain on the other hardware developers who will have no chance at competing with that kind of pricing. But, Lenovo are hinting at a potential $300 - $500 price range for the RT versions.
The pricing information come in an interview held by Bloomberg where Lenovo hinted that the price for the Pro version would be somewhere in the $600 - $700 price range with the RT versions coming in $200 - $300 less than that.
Sony has released the Sony Reader PRS-T2. The new eBook device was leaked last week by accident by an online retailer, so todays launch isn't a huge surprise. The new reader is a step up from last years T1 model in that it has a new screen as well as other features that enhance the user experience.
Although one online store began listing the Windows RT surface at around $1000 for the 32GB model, we now hear that Microsoft [MSFT] will actually be aiming for something far more competitive. The latest is that MS is now wanting to price the RT at around $200 for the base model.
Microsoft has revealed more information on partners of the new Windows RT devices. The companies who will be making hardware will be Dell, Lenovo, Asus and Samsung, each of which will have them ready for the launch of Windows 8.
