The Spica Speaker was designed by Yuki Tamamoto and is a speaker that not only plays music the regular way, it also lets you see the music. Don’t get too excited though as the gadget is just a concept at the moment.

FleXpeaker is a flexible speaker that can be bent to a certain point without distorting the audio being produced by it.
It was created by a company called ITRI that are based in Taiwan and from the technical specs it shows that the speaker has a frequency range of 500Hz to 20KHz giving it a fair bit of the hearing range.
The speaker it’s self is very thin and can be mounted on a wall for example. ITRI are also looking in to the possibility of linking a number of these together to create a larger wall of sound so to speak. [click to continue…]

Memorex have launched the Mi9490PBLK iPod dock sound system that is compatible with both iPods and iPhones. It is capable of 30 watts of power output and also allows you to listen to radio and audio CD’s.
Memorex’ Sound System is the first in a series of new products that has full compatibility with all iPhones including the new 3G S.

More rumours have come out of the chinese forums as well as a leaked photo of what is claimed to be the latest iPod Touch with camera built in. According to the rumour the next iPod Touch is supposed to be announced week beginning September 7th.
The photo above shows the back of the device where at the top a camera can be seen. It is expected that the new Touch will be able to capture video as well as the ability to edit video and upload it to services such as YouTube. [click to continue…]

Taken from the Star Trek Model Gallery we have here an Enterprise record player. It was designed from the NCC-1701 from the new Star Trek movie and uses the saucer section as the turntable where the music entitled “Space” can be seen playing.

The Zune HD wait is nearly over. Microsoft have now announced that their Zune HD will be available on September 15th at various online stores such as Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart and the MS store.
The Zune HD is capable of outputting video to screen at a resolution of 720p making it (as the name suggests) HD. Also included in the device is HD radio as well as either 16GB or 32GB of storage capacity. [click to continue…]

The Tainell T500 is a portable media player that has a 5″ screen capable of displaying 1024 x 600 pixels. The screen is also touchscreen.

Over at the recently held GDGT party a Zune HD was on show. The demonstrator strictly said no pictures could be taken although the person who recorded the video still captured it anyway (they did say pictures, not video).
As can be seen in the video after the jump, the interface runs very smoothly. Windows Phone OS will actually be using a very similar style interface when launched soon. [click to continue…]

The GeoSafari Digital Recording Lab is a device that allows you to mess around with a bunch of sounds. There are 59 projects included that you can choose to work through which show you how different sounds are created.
The components used to make the sounds are permanently installed on the main board and the user just needs to connect them together with wires. Chord Electronics have created the Indigo. The Indigo is named by Chord as an Advanced DAC. In simple terms it is a rather large but cool iPod dock. The Indigo doesn’t just do iPod type stuff though and is way more advanced then other docks you see.
