Over at CeBIT the Asus G71Gx made an appearance. This notebook boasts some serious power. It comes with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M GPU that has 1GB of VRAM on board. On the memory side of things it can take an impressive 12GB of RAM.
The notebook is aimed at gamers, hence the huge amount of power. It has a 17 inch widescreen Full HD display giving crystal clear graphics powered by the GeForce graphics adapter. With graphics not being on-board it allows the processor and memory to focus on what they need which speeds up overall performance.
Dual channel DDR2 memory at 800MHz supports up to 3 SODIMM’s that allows for 12GB of memory to be used (just make sure your OS accepts that much RAM). For storage, a 1 TB laptop hard drive is included in the package that is actually made up of 2 x 500GB drives that are of the SATA type. Blu-ray support is included and audio is played back through four (yes four) Altec Lansing speakers.
6GB model available at Amazon now.
