Apple MacBook Teardown

Apple-MacBook-TearDown-insideJust hours after the new Apple MacBook being made available, iFixit have already done a teardown on the new polycarbonate unibody enclosure to see what they can find inside and see if anything has moved around.

New features on the Apple [AAPL] MacBook include an LED backlit display that has the same 1280 x 800 resolution of previous models. A new polycarbonate unibody upper case is now used. The trackpad is glass and multi-touch and the bottom panel has a non-slip coating allowing it to sit firmly on a desk without sliding around.

Some key things to note on the new MacBook is that Firewire is now gone from this model and is only available on the MacBook Pro. Also the IR port has gone and the Mini-DVI port has been replaced with a Mini DisplayPort.

Now that the brief explanation is over, it's time to take a look at a couple of the shots of what's inside the new MacBook. For the full 3 page teardown check out iFixit.
