A few rumours are circulating about Apple releasing the Macbook Nano netbook. This rumour was recently re-enforced when a source at LG in Korea leaked some information about a technology that Apple has purchased from LG.
The new Macbook Nano (as rumours call it) will have an OLED screen supplied by LG in Taiwan. Apple have paid LG $500M up front to work on monitor and display technology. The technology that LG owns means that touchscreens will remain without finger marks making them look ultra clean and crisp at all times. Regular touchscreens take oil and dirt from your skin and it sticks on the screen. LG have created a new layer added to the manufacturing process that can eliminate oils and dirt from getting on to the screen. Impressive stuff and well needed!

OLED, huh? So this product will retail at about $5000 or so? Apple needs to keep their feet in reality.
Hopefully not that expensive by the time they are launched.
It does look fancy but I really doubt it has an optical drive as the fan image suggests. The MacBook air doesn’t have an optical drive to save space so this definatley won’t. Don’t think I would get one either, as much as I think it’s cool, I just wouldn’t use it for anything other than Internet which my iPod touch is quite capable of.
$5000 are you nuts? There are already 5″ oLED MP4 players out on the market for around $300. Oled in the longrun is also much cheaper to produce in mass markets, and if you consider apples promenant position in the mobile media market, i doubt theyll have a problem bringing the price down…
hey i think you guys SHOULD let this go for sale. I want a million of them if i could.But just lower the prices down to about 1000. Then it would be a great present for school p[rizes and other stuff to. Please lower the prices for this cause i want it for christmas when im a freshman!!
