Apple iPhone 4 Pre-Orders Could Arrive Early

Apple [AAPL] is starting to send out emails to those who pre-ordered in time for a June 24 delivery of the iPhone 4. The email is worded in such a way that it indicates the iPhone 4 could be delivered a day early on June 23 (tomorrow).

Dear Apple Store Customer,

You recently received a Shipment Notification email from Apple advising you that your iPhone has shipped.

This email is to confirm that your delivery will occur on June 23rd. Although Apple and FedEx tracking information may currently indicate a later date, you can check the FedEx website the morning of the June 23rd to track your package to your doorstep.

In the event that you will not be available to accept delivery on June 23rd, it may be more convenient to use our pre-sign delivery option by visiting our Order Status website at

Sincerely,

The Apple Store Team

This appears to be an email sent to US customers due to FedEx often being used in the US to deliver Apple products. Over in the UK, UPS and TNT generally deliver new products. We haven’t heard anything for the iPhone 4 UK pre-orders being shipped early just yet and in fact, several people I have spoken to have not even received a delivery confirmation or shipping email yet. Lets hope all runs to plan and that the iPhone’s at least arrive on time if nothing else.
