Apple iPad UK Pricing to start at £389

Since the announcement of the Apple iPad last month, we were unsure how much the iPad was to cost here in the UK. The US pricing was set at $499 for the base model. Normally electronic products don't follow exchange rates when they arrive in the UK meaning that the iPad won't be costing £327 which the exchange rate would currently set it at. From what we have heard though, Apple [AAPL] will be launching the iPad for £389 in the UK which prices it a little more when compared to the US version, but not too far over priced. Remember US tax is also to be included in the $499 price adding various amounts to around $50 on to the final price.

The information came from an anonymous tipster at Geeky Gadgets who sent in details to them about the wifi iPad pricing. However, at this time the 3G pricing is still unknown although we can start to make estimations based on the lower end price we have received.

We also have heard that the UK launch will be moved in to April as opposed to the March that we had previously heard. It will be certainly interesting to see pricing of the other iPad models. We expect to get official pricing soon from the Apple UK site.

Hallo! Hello! Hola? Has your calculator broken? $499 = £384. In fact it is CHEAPER in London than New York. Why? Well you have forgotten to add VAT to the UK price and also forgotten $499 is without sales tax. So in NYC you would pay $550 or so…
