Apple Announces new MacBook Pro

MacBook Pro
Apple have announced some MacBook upgrades which have faster wireless, nice displays and run NVIDIA graphics chips. The processor for these is an Intel Core 2 Duo which can run up to 2.4GHz due to it having 2 cores. The processor has 4MB cache which can be shared between the cores as needed.

The memory is one impressive upgrade which allows for up to 4GB of 667MHz DDR 2 memory and an 800MHz frontside bus. This along with the NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT you get a seriously nice MacBook which can run both 2D and 3D graphics smoothly.

For the screen you have the choice of 15 inch or 17 inch models which are LED backlit which are more efficient. Weighing just 5.4 or 6.8 pounds they are very light and portable.

The MacBook has 802.11n Wifi which allows you to connect up to five times faster and two times the range from your wireless access point. If you like Windows XP or Vista then this is not a problem at all. Using beta software called Boot Camp it allows you to install either of the MS operating systems (as long as your MacBook Pro has an Intel processor). Boot Camp is part of the latest Mac OS.

After reading this I am wondering if it is time I drop my Compaq and go out and buy a new MacBook Pro.
